What Does Your Heart Say?
Luke 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Never underestimate the power of love. Love is the most powerful force on the planet. If you take a moment to look at all the most powerful things that have changed your life, they were either a result of pure love or love in its broken form which is hate. I know this is somewhat controversial but hang with me for a beat. Jesus says in John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Jesus who was God incarnate said that a whole sect of people will be known by operating in one primary function…Love! Please understand, there seems to be nothing that moves the heart of God more than an act of love from one to another. There are many times in the scripture we see Jesus being moved with compassion before performing a miracle. He was operating out of Love. He was operating out of a heart that was completely and totally driven with being able to help, heal, and save all people. Everything Jesus did, including the times that he spent away from people to get close to the Father, was done out of this new command He gave us. This brings us to the scripture above from Luke 6.
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Gut Check Time
Look back over the past 48 hours. What would your actions say about what is in your heart? Let’s dig a little deeper. Has your actions expressed a heart that is full of love? Was your speech that of one who is trying to build up and not teardown? These are deep questions we need to ask ourselves. Fam, this is where the rubber meets the road. This is how we work out our salvation. We compare our deepest parts, the inner recesses, the corners and crevasses that are hidden away from the world to the word of God which is Jesus Christ. This can be extremely painful, shameful, and down-right messy. But that ultimately is a good thing! Here’s a secret the enemy doesn’t want you to know…
"As long as you keep sin hidden away in darkness, tucked away in a dark corner, the enemy will ALWAYS have access to YOU. You better believe the enemy will exploit these entry ways at every chance he gets.
Psalm 139 talks about how God searches us and knows us. How he perceives our thoughts from afar. When you get a chance, read that entire Psalm. This means all these areas that we think are hidden, are no surprise to God. He sees it all anyway. As a matter of fact, some of the situations and crises we endure, is God letting us know that the very secrets we hide, are the root of that which keeps us bound and shackled. If you want to take the shackles off your feet so you can dance? Let God in. God won’t do that part for you. He is a gentleman. He will not force himself on anyone. Revelations 3:20 states “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Please understand, all of this is pointing back to a heart of Love. The Fathers heart of love.
So, take stock of your speech over the next few days. Take inventory of your innermost thoughts. Will those around you know you have a heart for God?
